One year after the documentary, Pete is still working at Dunder Mifflin and can be seen doing Dwight’s morning exercises along with the rest of the staff. Pete is also seen at the interview of the office staff, but no questions on camera are directed towards him. He is later seen at Dwight and Angela’s wedding as well as the PBS party in the warehouse (“Finale”). When Jim is moved to Clark’s old desk in the annex, he tries striking up a friendly conversation with Pete, but just as before, he realizes that the two do not have anything in common. Pete assures Jim that he is sure “they will have their moments”, but he doesn’t look convinced.
In “Test the Store” Erin meets an elderly woman, Irene, and she becomes her live in maid. Erin initially wants to stay, but the two get back together and travel back to Scranton to find Nellie Bertram in Andy’s office. She helps Andy out with his challenges of being manager and is the only one to congratulate him on his new job. In “The Delivery”, Erin shows a knowledge of horse racing history as she names the Triple Crown winners to distract Pam before she goes to the hospital.
While making a wide base for it, Kevin starts ridiculing him for not making it tall. Pete tries to explain that first he has to build a base however Kevin doesn’t seem to understand and tells Darryl that he doesn’t feel “Pete is the sharpest guy in the drawer” to which Pete responds he can clearly hear him. Creed, Nellie, Erin, Meredith, and Pam later join him and Pete reads the complaints as he places each one on the growing tower. As Kevin tries to place one up there however he causes the tower to fall over.

When Robert arrives, he notices that the party is more tailored to kids than adults. Andy asks Angela and Phyllis to help take over and re-tailor the party and asks to speak with Erin at the end of the day. Andy and Robert later talk with Erin in his office regarding Erin accidentally ruining the Halloween party by putting on a disturbing movie of Gabe’s creation. Erin says she got nervous when Andy asked to have a talk with her and that she thought he was about to fire her over the party. However, Andy tells her he’s dating someone, and she is shocked to hear they’ve been out on 31 dates so far.
He also attended Wallace’s cocktail party in “Cocktails”, and was seen in “Launch Party” trying to see if his branch’s camera was working. He was one of the company leaders who attended Ryan’s wilderness retreat, along with Toby (and not the pointedly un-invited Michael Scott). It is announced in “Company Picnic” that the Buffalo branch is closing due to the terrible recession hitting the U.S. economy. In “Branch Closing”, when it was announced in that the Scranton branch would be closing, Josh was offered a promotion to become the manager of Dunder Mifflin’s newly formed Northeast region.

A deleted scene from “Diversity Day” shows Devon with a “West Nile” sign on his forehead, as he escapes the seminar for a smoke. A deleted scene from “Valentine’s Day” shows Michael walking down the street in New York City, when a seemingly homeless pedestrian seems to recognize him and then chases him down the street. In the following scene, Michael reveals that it was Devon chasing him, and cluelessly reflects that it was nice to see Devon again and get closure on their whole story. In the series finale, it is revealed that Devon has been rehired by Dwight because Dwight always thought he was a good worker, ironically to replace Creed. He pressures the entire office to go, but really just wants to get Erin to attend, in order to spend time with her and win her back from Gabe. Andy is delighted that Erin is coming without Gabe, however ultimately his plan backfires when she agrees to babysit Cecilia so Jim and Pam can attend. Ultimately Erin shows up to the play and the two spend time together, but Erin leaves to spend time with Gabe, leaving Andy despondent.
After 10 years of marriage and one daughter, the two went their separate ways. And while Angela’s character had a child contract with Dwight, in real life, she got married to actor Joshua Snyder in 2016. Snyder has sons from a previous relationship and the two combined their former families creating a new, happy blended family. The two have their own baking blog and show where they cook together and share recipes. It can be hard for The Office fans to accept that the series isn’t just over, it’s completely fictional. Michael Scott is a hilariously uncomfortable character but he is not real and the unique relationships he had with Jan, Carol, and Holly were fake.
